Network Consultant
Location - Glasgow or Livingston (Flexible)

As Network Consultant you will promote the professional services offering to managed solutions customers. 

What you’ll do
  • Promotion of professional services capability through direct interaction with customers
  • Production of documentation relating to customer networks including Architecture, strategy, performance, design principles, management, vendor capability.
  • Presentation of consultancy deliverables to customers and demonstration of value there in.
  • Interface with customer design teams to understand and agree best practice networking in the enterprise space.
  • Aid in the production of  THUS bid responses in relation to THUS professional services capabilities.
  • Interface with internal departments to provide a service to sales, sales engineering in support of managed solutions opportunities.
  • Act as point of expertise for THUS Professional Services customer facing capabilities.
  • Interface with project management, service delivery and delivery management teams to report on progress with customer consultancy opportunities.

What you’ll need

  • Proven and excellent customer facing skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills; produce concise and accurate documentation.
  • Experience of design and architecture of data networks.
  • Experience of network design of SDH transmission systems at all levels, ie STM-1 to STM-64
  • Problem solving skills including understanding and developing design rules associated with transport and data networks.
  • Strong background in optical networking skills in designing with DWDM and CWDM equipment including optical.
  • Extensive experience in data network design with Major PTO, ISP or equipment manufacturer.
  • Ideally be qualified to a recognised industry standard of excellence (CCIE, CCIP, CEng or equivalent)
  • Educated to degree level, preferably Master of Engineering level.
