Senior Security Engineer
Location - Glasgow
Ref - SENSECEN/AJ

We are currently recruiting a Senior Security Engineer, who will be responsible for management of the Customer security architecture.  The role will also include working with LAN/WAN Support Engineers in fault finding, design and general support.  

The Senior Security Engineer will ensure the customers architecture is supported from a design and support perspective to meet the customer s current and future business plan.  They will provide technical support and technical consultancy to the customer and operational teams.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure the team delivers design & configuration documentation requirements on a consistent and timely service basis and to the appropriate quality.

  • Building capability within the wider support team through coaching, knowledge share, feedback and identification of development needs.
  • Understand the products and services supplied by other network operators, ensuring Thus can utilise these when necessary to promote a seamless service.
  • Ensure all design, build and support functions comply with regulatory, legal and industry guidelines. 

Successful candidate should have:

  • Experience of Security, LAN/WAN and servers in a customer facing telecoms environment
  • Proven experience of working with Checkpoint and Cisco Security products.
  • Experience of working as part of a customer facing team, demonstrating business improvements and knowledge sharing.
  • Proven experience with bespoke and security requests into customer premises provisioned over MPLS, ATM and Frame Relay Networks.
  • Strong understanding of emerging security and LAN/WAN technologies and their potential applications.
  • Previous experience in IP and routing skills.
  • Excellent planning and organising skills.
