Public Sector IT Directors Business Development Strategy Meeting

THUS participated at the CMA Members Briefing on Fixed-Mobile Convergence.

Fixed-Mobile Convergence (FMC) enables a mobile user to experience the same functionality and access to applications on their mobile device as they do on their fixed desktop in the office, and it allows mobile devices to function smoothly between fixed and mobile network infrastructures. FMC could transform the telecommunications industry over the next five years and analyst predictions suggest that 80% of service providers are planning to offer FMC services from mid 2008.

This event discussed the main issues around FMC through a combination of case studies and presentations from analysts and suppliers.

THUS recently held an event for its existing and prospective customers in the Education sector. The day began with a number of presentations by THUS Management, followed by a group discussion around the ITC challenges facing Further and Higher Education institutions.

THUS exhibited at the Association of University Administrators' (AUA) Annual Conference. This was a specialist event run by the AUA Telecoms Group. The AUA plays a key role in the development of management and administration of Higher Education (HE) in the UK.

The Conference attracted telecoms managers, staff involved in the daily running of telecommunications systems and staff planning to update, replace or extend existing systems. The event offered suppliers of services to the HE sector an opportunity to promote their products and services through exhibiting and sponsorship, and to network informally with conference delegates at social events.
