Technical features
- Number flexibility – Map your inbound DDIs to your SIP trunks using a simple web-based interface. No longer are your geographic numbers tied to your physical site; you can map multiple geographic prefixes / numbers or non geographic numbers to your SIP Trunks, all with optional whisper prompt to announce the type of call.
- Alternate routing – Define alternate routing for each DDI and change the current routing, as required, with just the click of your mouse; perfect for disaster recovery scenarios, when inbound calls must be re-routed to other sites, home numbers or mobile phones.
- Shared infrastructure – Use one data connection for all your voice and data traffic, with a choice of access methods to suit your exact business requirements.
- Retain your existing PBX and phones – By deploying a SIP Gateway device on site, all of your legacy equipment can operate over SIP Trunks without the need for ISDN lines.
- Direct connection to IP PBXs – The data link carrying your SIP Trunks connects directly to your IP-enabled PBX.
- Potential cost savings – Save on the rental of ISDN lines, while enjoying cost-effective call pricing. All calls between connected sites are free.
- Highly scalable – No need to rent spare phone lines just in case you may need them; extra SIP Trunks can easily be added as and when required.
- Future-proof your estate – SIP Trunks ensure that you benefit from future developments in IP voice.
Additional features – SIP Trunking provides a pathway to many exciting features that can enhance your current phone use and allow you to get more from your existing investment, including:
- Cloud-based call recording – Record calls for service monitoring or regulatory compliance and stream the recordings to your desktop.
- Unified communications – Be notified, by SMS or email, when someone leaves you a voicemail – and have that voicemail emailed to you as a .WAV attachment or forwarded to another user.
- Date and time-based routing – Automatically route calls by date and/or time. Ideal for out-of-hours services, office closures and Public Holidays.
Depending on your bandwidth requirements, your data connection can be implemented using any of the following access methods:

- Cable & Wireless Worldwide (C&WW) Multi Service Platform (MSP) IP-VPN data link.
- THUS Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) IP-VPN data link.

FAQs
What about Call quality?
If you use one of the connection methods above then the quality of your calls will be at least as good as on your existing ISDN network
Can I increase/decrease the number of SIP Trunks easily?
Yes! If you have a short term need for extra SIP trunks to handle seasonal increases in calls then we can do that very easily with no long lead times or installation costs. You just pay for the extra trunks for as long as you want them.
